The Amundi Evian Championship, one of the five women’s major golf tournaments in the world, took place from 9 to 12 July at the Evian Resort Golf Club in France. Fannie Wurtz, Head of Clients Group and Chair of Asia, presented the trophy to the Korean player, Haeran Ryu, winner of this 2026 edition.
Eleven years after capturing the title at the 2015 Amundi Evian Juniors Cup with Team South Korea, Haeran Ryu has now claimed the ultimate prize at Evian, lifting the trophy of The Amundi Evian Championship. Her second major victory of the season, this remarkable achievement cements her place among the game's greats and etches her name forever in golf history.
Founded in 1994, The Amundi Evian Championship is one of the most renowned women's golf tournaments in the world and the only major in continental Europe. As title partner of The Amundi Evian Championship since 2021, we are proud of this commitment and support for the development of this sport, which requires skills close to those of asset management business. We are a sponsor committed to the long term, and we have renewed the partnership with the tournament until 2030.
Our commitment to women's sport is perfectly in line with the desire to promote equal opportunities and diversity. It supports initiatives aimed at young golfers, as well as the promising professional players who make up the Amundi Team. This team currently comprises 6 players from Europe and Asia. This year, we were delighted to follow the performances of the whole Amundi Team : Alexandra Försterling (GER), Sara Kouskova (CZE), Nastasia Nadaud (FR), Mimi Rhodes (ENG), Sayaka Takahashi (JPN) and Lauren Walsh (IRL). Two of them made the cut.
In addition, this year a solidarity initiative has been launched: ‘Birdie for Charity’. For every birdie made during tournament week, we donate a sum of money to the Thailand Golf Foundation. The Foundation helps underprivileged Thai children gain access to golf from primary school through its ‘Pathway Programme’. Beyond sport itself, this gives young people the chance to build confidence, learn values and open up new opportunities for their future. A total amount of 15 740€ was donated to the charity. This donation was matched by The R&A Foundation, meaning the total contribution was doubled.
See you in 2027, from 8 to 11 July, for a next edition of The Amundi Evian Championship!
