We welcome Irish golfer Lauren Walsh into its European team and renew our support to the KPMG Women's Irish Open

Published 14 May, 2024

Lauren Walsh, a promising Irish golfer, has joined our Amundi European Team. We also continue to support the development of international women's golf tournaments with the renewal of our partnership with the KPMG Women's Irish Open.

Lauren Walsh, 23, turned professional in the summer of 2023. On May 1st, she joined the Amundi European Team*, an initiative launched in 2021 as part of the Amundi Women Golf Talent Programme. This programme aims to support promising young female golfers by providing financial support, increased visibility and access to competitive opportunities. To date, the programme has supported 16 players from Germany, the United States, China, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and the Czech Republic.

The renewal of our partnership with the KPMG Women's Irish Open aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting women's golf tournaments. Amundi strengthened this commitment in 2021 by becoming the title sponsor of a women's major golf tournament ‘The Amundi Evian Championship’. We are also associated with the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge and the Amundi German Masters, the next edition of which will take place from May 16 to 19 and will feature Lauren Walsh.

David Harte, Chief Executive Officer of Amundi Ireland, comments:

We are delighted to support Lauren at this early stage of her professional golf career and we particularly look forward to Lauren participating at this year’s KPMG Women’s Irish Open, which we are very happy to partner with again this year

Natacha Andermahr, Head of Communications of Amundi, comments:

We are proud to welcome Lauren Walsh into the Amundi Golf team. The Amundi Women Talent programme is rooted in our commitment to equal opportunities and diversity. The objective is to enable talented young players to progress and reveal themselves on the international scene. Our support of Lauren is a further illustration of this commitment. I wish her and all the 10 young players in the Amundi team every success for the 2024 season.
